EDUCATING the WOMEN of TOMORROW

My Mission
My missions is simple: To spread the word of the importance of education for girls of all ages and how this will not only change an individual girls life but it will create ripples of change for the life of her family, community, and generations to come. With the tools of literacy and writing, a girl is able to determine her own future. It is by being aware of this significant social issue, especially in developing countries, that I want to provide solutions of how we can each contribute to this cause.

Get to Know Me
My name is Maria Baiona and I am a Freshman at Baylor University. Before I came to Baylor, I lived in the west African country of Angola. There, I was able to volunteer at a local orphanage and understand the various educational disparities many of the girls faced. It is for this reason that I want people around the world to become more aware of these issues and learn of the immense benefits that can be gained from giving a girl the power to read and right. I can't change the world, but I can start in my own community and hope that with my efforts and everyone's help I can create a chain reaction that can be continued all over the world.
